Massage By Stacey

What to expect

« Whether this is your first massage or one of many, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment. »

My name is Stacey Morgan, and I’ve been a licensed massage therapist since graduating from Hands on Approach School of Massage in July 2002. I’ve had the privilege of working with some of my clients since my internship that same summer.

My advanced certifications include Pregnancy, Labor, and Post-Partum Massage, Thai Herbal Poultice Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology, Deep Tissue (Lower Back Focus), and CranioSacral Therapy. I specialize in relieving all kinds of pain, particularly lower back pain, but many of my clients tell me they also enjoy the deeply relaxing nature of my massages.

I am also a proud member of the American Bodyworkers and Massage Professionals organization.

What to Expect

Massage on healthy tissue should never be painful. While we may come across a few tender spots, the overall experience should be soothing and tension-relieving.

To begin, we’ll set up a quick client profile for you, which takes about two minutes. This will address:

  • Any health conditions or injuries I should be aware of
  • Areas you’d prefer I avoid, such as sensitive feet or an injury
  • Areas requiring extra therapeutic attention
  • Any specific preferences for your session

We’ll then discuss your goals for the massage. During the session, you will remain properly draped at all times to ensure comfort and warmth, though lighter draping or towels can be used if you tend to feel warm. You may choose to stay fully clothed or undress to your level of comfort. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

A light oil or lotion will be applied to reduce friction and allow your muscles to relax more deeply. A typical 60-minute session includes attention to the back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, shoulders, and glutes. At no point will breasts or genitals be touched, massaged, or exposed.

We’ll start with long, calming strokes to help relax your nervous system and relieve surface-level tension. As your body relaxes, we’ll gradually increase pressure to target specific areas of discomfort or muscle tightness. I’ll check in periodically to ensure the pressure and temperature are to your liking. If at any point you feel discomfort, please let me know immediately so we can adjust. Massage is most effective when your body is fully relaxed and not resisting.

Maximizing Your Massage Experience

Massage can be a powerful way to help your body maintain balance and overall health. Here are a few tips to get the most out of every session:

Before Your Appointment

  • Take a warm bath or shower to relax your muscles before your session.
  • Limit caffeine, sugar, and other stimulants before your massage.
  • Avoid eating a large meal right before your appointment.
  • Allow yourself extra time so you don’t feel rushed, helping you enter a more relaxed state.
  • Be aware of any health conditions or issues you’d like to address during the session.

During Your Massage

  • Share what’s happening with your body. Whether it’s an ache, an injury, or a specific concern, let me know so we can address it.
  • Speak up if you want more or less pressure or if there’s something you’d like adjusted.
  • Relax fully and focus on the session. Massage is designed to ease tension and promote well-being, so let go of daily stress and be present in the moment.
  • Breathe deeply. Slow, deep breaths will signal your body to relax further and maximize the benefits of the session.

After Your Appointment

  • Take some time to relax before diving back into your routine.
  • Stay hydrated! Massage releases toxins from your muscles, so drinking water will help your body flush them out more effectively.

Between Sessions

  • Make note of any changes in your body to share during your next appointment.
  • Reduce stress where possible to prolong the benefits of your massage.
  • Consider scheduling regular appointments to help your body maintain balance and improve your overall health.

Your Well-Being Matters Most

Your health and wellness are essential, so prioritizing self-care can make all the difference in how you handle life’s challenges. When you’re feeling your best, you’ll have more energy and clarity to face whatever comes your way.

If you have any questions about your massage, bodywork, or overall health, feel free to ask! Together, we’ll ensure you get the most out of every session.
