Only about 5% of all essential oils sold are therapeutic-grade. These are
the purest and highest-quality essential oils available in the world.
Unfortunately, purity levels for regular essential oils sold in America are
relative, since there are no guidelines. But, when a bottler or manufacturer
puts "Therapeutic Grade" on their label, they do so by following the
international guidelines of ISO and have mass-spectrometer/gas
chromatograph testing to back it up. As a rule of thumb, if your supplier
cannot obtain test results, do not consider it therapeutic-grade.
While we only sell therapeutic-grade EO's, aromatherapy-grade can be
more cost effective for general home use. When deciding which grade to
buy, always keep two things in mind. 1.) Your skin is the largest organ of
your body and most of what gets on it will go in it and 2.) Smell is not an
accidental occurance. What you smell are tiny particles of a substance that
has entered your nose and possibly your lungs.
